Terms of use

This page describes what EastRide is, what it does and does not do, and what you agree to by using the site. For what happens with your data specifically, see the Privacy Policy.

What EastRide is

  • EastRide is a directory and matching platform: it connects travellers with independently operated rental shops and tour partners in Vietnam. We do not own or operate any of the bikes, tours, or partner businesses listed on the site.
  • We are not a party to the rental or tour agreement. That agreement is concluded directly between you and the partner: the deal itself is theirs and yours.

What we don’t do

  • We never touch payments. You pay the partner directly - we don’t hold, process, or see your money.
  • We never act as a tour organiser. For a tour, the named operator organises and runs it, and is named explicitly on the tour page.
  • We don’t call a partner “legal”, “licensed”, or “official”. We are not auditors. What we looked at for a given rental, and what we did not, is set out on the What we check page.

Your account

  • Signing in with Google or Telegram creates a rider profile automatically - there is no separate registration form. What we collect and why is covered in the Privacy Policy.
  • You’re responsible for keeping access to your account secure, and for the accuracy of what you submit in a booking or partner request.

Submitting a request

  • A request is not a booking. We forward it to the partner, and the partner confirms directly with you - that confirmation, not the request, is what creates an agreement.
  • We ask for a name and one contact - nothing more. We never ask for a passport, an ID scan, or a document number.

Liability

  • We are not liable for a partner’s obligations, the condition of a vehicle, or how a tour is run. What we do check is set out on the What we check page, and how we handle complaints on the Disputes page.
  • Use the site, and any rental or tour you arrange through it, at your own judgement: check the vehicle and documents before you ride, wear a helmet, and follow local traffic law.

Changes to this agreement

  • We may update this page as the site changes. The version in effect is the one published here at the time you use the site - meaningful changes will be reflected on this page.

Who administers this site

  • EastRide is not currently registered as a separate legal entity. The site is administered by its founder as a sole proprietor - current registration details are below.
