How EastRide works

Where the prices and terms on this site come from, how a request travels, and what we do when something goes wrong.

Where the data comes from

Rentals that work with us confirm their own terms. The other listings are put together from public sources - the rentals’ own sites and listings - and each of those cards says so: prices and terms there may have changed.

A request goes through us

Your request comes to us first, and we pass it on to the rental. The rental confirms it, so this is a request rather than a booking. Before you ride, check the terms that matter to you with the rental itself.

You pay the rental directly

We never take, hold or see your money and take no commission on the rental. The price and the deposit are settled between you and the rental.

How the “Our pick” order works

Position in the “Recommended” sort is a score: price including delivery up to 30 points, rental rating up to 25, deposit-return fairness up to 10, deposit size up to 18, reply speed up to 6. The caveat matters more than the formula: we have no reviews yet and reply speed is not measured for a single rental, so three of the five terms are currently identical for everyone. In practice the order comes down to price and the size of the deposit.

What a complaint triggers

We answer within 24 hours and collect both sides and documents; while the dispute is open, the rental is flagged internally. In a dispute the rider comes first. Deposit fraud or a refusal to cooperate removes the rental from the platform.

When a rental is removed

Confirmed deceit about deposit or terms, repeated confirmed complaints, an unresolved dispute, or refusing to take part in resolving one. Removal is not a negotiation: the listing goes down first, the conversation happens after.

What we do not promise

Tour licences

Whether an operator holds a tour licence is a question for the operator - ask them directly. On the Vietnamese motorbike-tour market such licences are rare in practice. The programme and terms come from the operator; we write them up ourselves and say so on every tour.

Legal standing

We are not auditors or lawyers, and we never call a rental “legal”, “licensed” or “official”.

The state of a specific bike

Only you see the bike at handover. Photograph and film it when you pick it up - that is the main evidence if a damage dispute comes up.
