Nobody rents an XR150L for speed. You rent it because the road turns to gravel and you keep going. Long-travel suspension, 19-inch front wheel, a seat you can stand on, and an engine simple enough that any village mechanic can fix it. On tarmac it is genuinely slow and buzzy above 80 km/h. Off it, in the hills west of Da Nang, it is the only bike in this catalogue that makes sense.

Andrey spent forty minutes on the training ground before letting me near a trail, and I was annoyed at the time. By the third climb I understood why. If you have never ridden dirt, this is the place to start.
Took the XR for three days after doing their day tour. The pine forest trails around Da Lat are unreal — you ride on a carpet of needles between the trees. Andrey marked safe tracks on my map and lent me proper boots for free.
Bike is well used — it is a working enduro, not a showroom piece, and you can tell. Everything mechanical was sound, but do not expect fresh plastics. For the trails around Da Lat it is exactly right.
Bike was ready and honest for the price. Pickup point is not central and I lost half an hour finding it — the map pin was off by a block.
Solid bike for the money, took it up into the hills west of the city. Minimum rental is three days here, worth knowing before you plan a day trip.
Dropped the bike twice on a wet descent, nothing broke and nobody made a scene about it. Protective gear was in good shape — worn, but the pads were where they should be.
Booked the two-day route. Luggage went ahead in the van, we rode light, slept in a mountain guesthouse. Best two days of a three-week trip.
Guide checked my brakes and chain in front of me before we left, then again at the lunch stop. Small thing, but it is the first time anyone in Vietnam did that for me.
Took it into the hills west of the city where the tarmac runs out. Slow on the way there — 80 km/h is its happy limit and it buzzes above that — but once the surface got bad it was the only sensible choice. Dropped it once, no damage.
